The Wyoming Public Lands Monument
Wyoming is a state rich with National Monuments, National Parks, State Parks, reservoirs, National Forests, and public lands in general. The Wyoming Public Lands Monument is a concept project designed to pay homage to Wyoming's unique public spaces, especially at a time when these lands are under threat. It is intended to be a statement to those trying to sell off public lands both in Wyoming and the rest of the nation. Located on Prexy's Pasture at the University of Wyoming, the structure takes cues from Wyoming's iconic Teton Mountain Range in Grand Teton National Park. The mountain-like sheets provide shade and shelter for students travelling to class while displaying information on the plentiful public lands located in the state.

As part of the design phase of this project, I was allowed to use "the cave" in the University of Wyoming's Energy Innovation Center. This facility allowed me to virtually walk through my design both during the design phase and after the final model was completed. This proved to be a valuable tool in assessing the real-life experience of my conceptual design.
