pacific

the
theater & café

The Pacific is a concept for a café and theater in downtown Laramie, Wyoming.  It  is named to give a nod to its immediate next-door neighbor: the Union Pacific Railroad.  The font used for this project is based off an early Union Pacific font, and it was the UPRR that laid those first tracks through “Laramie City” on the Transcontinental Railroad in May, 1868.  Laramie has grown significantly since then, and is now known for its unique downtown character.  The expressive use of brick and rectangular forms on The Pacific  is intended to blend in with historic Downtown Laramie, while its aluminum paneling and leaning overhangs are intended to stand out and display its modern design.
