Hotel Infinit is to become Barcelona’s premier hotel, and has been designed to revitalize Barcelona’s Forum Park District.  The hotel has a distinct figure-eight shape that allows for double atriums and plentiful views.  The shape’s form appears as two floating sheets from certain angles, while from other views, the tower seems to disappear into “infinity,” or “infinit” in Catalan.  The tower includes restaurant space, two public observation decks and outdoor space on every fourth floor, while the site plan includes vendor and service access, underground parking, and a 120,000sf podium for businesses and clubs.

The site surrounding Hotel Infinit is designed specifically to attract visitors to Barcelona’s Museu Blau and Parc del Fòrum.  The master plan includes a large park inspired by Chicago’s Grant Park, Versailles’ famous gardens, and GaudÍ’s own Parc Güell.  Three main stages will provide an ideal space for music festivals, while the axial fountains points directly towards Museu Blau & the Forum Park.  Lastly, gentle stepped inclines on the northwest and northeast sides of the site act as an open and inviting entrance to the park.

This project was completed as the final for the course Architectural Design Studio IV at the University of Wyoming.  For this project, I was the member of a team of four, and I acted as the site and podium architect.  For the project, I designed the site plan, created the exterior renderings, and put together the final presentation boards.
