Downtown Laramie Façade Redesigns

The Façade Redesign project was an exploratory concept for the remodel of a building in downtown Laramie, Wyoming.  The existing façade, pictured below on the left, does not fit well contextually in downtown Laramie, a historic district.  As a response, I created two potential replacements for the façade - one of a traditional style, and one contemporary.  Both designs use common red brick that can be seen around the rest of downtown Laramie.  The traditional facade borrows heavily from surrounding architecture, utilizing arches and keystones above the windows.  The contemporary design makes a nod to the traditional architecture with its smaller traditional-shaped windows, while clearly making a contemporary statement with the rectangular bay jutting out diagonally over the sidewalk.
